ROTATABLE  WIND POWER PLANT

Abstract

This invention is about a rotating wind power plant , which provides large scale utilization of the wind compared to other wind energy production forms. The wind power station comprises a rotatable supporting frame having more than one stages and each stage has more than one power units. The frame can rotate around itself according to the direction of the wind. The production efficiency of the station is based on the possibility to utilize the bigger energy quantity of the higher air layer and the multiple operating efficiency of power units.

Background

This invention provides for large scale utilization of the power contained in the wind. The most conventional methodof utilizing wind power is the wind power station in which a three blade rotor connected to an electricity generating generator is placed on top of the tower.

The wind power is generally expensive compared to other forms of energy. The price of the produced energy is also increased by the fact that each wind power station requires costs of tower  , wind driving system and wind transfer costs of the station. The area demand per power station of individual power stations is a big cost raising factor of the produced energy and finding suitable places becomes harder. There is a tendency to build power stations offshore which are ery expensive than ground based stations.

Description

In our invention there is one strong base mounted on the ground On this base there is system so that the support frame can rotate on it. Support frame can be one tower which has several stages or it can be several towers which are connected by stage crossbeams. In the one tower tower case lower part of the tower is inserted into the base so that it strongly supported

In one tower case stage cossbeams carrying turbines   are connected together by ropes preferably made of steel to the top of the tower .In each stage ,two or more wind turbines are mounted on the crossbeams equally spaced. The wind power units are mounted to the tower on top of each other The power generated by the rotors is transmitted with the gear to the generators .

In sevaral tower case towers are connected to each other by crossbeams. Each tower is supported by a parabolic crossbeam.Parabolic crossbeams are also connected together and connected severally to the towers.

The moving parts preferably wheels carrying the support system can move on the rotation platform preferably circular tracks

Advantages

a)The invention provides such a high electric energy production from one station unit that the price of the power becomes more profitable than wind power produced by conventional wind energy production methods

b)Our invention is statically more stable if we compare it with other multiple stages wind power stations using vertical area .The reason for this is our system has a supporting frame which can rotate totally

c)In our invention there is no need to use big and expensive wind units .Instead smaller and price effective units can be used.

d)In our system all wind units are placed on the same vertical plane , so we don't need to consider the wake effect which decreases the power gained and the life of each power unit.

e)The invention provides for the utilization of the bigger wind powers prevailing in the higher air layers of 120-300 m. in which traditional wind energy producing systems do not use effectively

f)In offshore power stations we can use one base ( which very expensive ) for several turbines

g)We can use one wind driving system ( which is also very expensive ) for several turbines

Operation the system

Each wind power unit mounted on the frame can generate energy by itself. When the wind is stronger the higher wind units automatically cut off. When the direction of the wind changes this is measured by the measuring unit and the frame rotate by small motors by the wheels  under the frame on the circular tracks so as the system gets maximum energy.
